When we first started our blog, we started it for one product. We would like to change it so that it's a company blog with several product topics underneath. I have no idea how to even begin this because we have some custom code on our blog that made it so the main blogger, Danielle Herring showed up as the blog owner. We would like to have the header changed to ETM Blog and the sub-header to say something like, "ETM industry & product experts will be periodically publishing industry related content, articles, and events."

Additionally, how difficult will it be to reorganize the items already posted into it's own category of "Unclaimed Property" and then the sub-categories under that?

I'm afraid to touch anything and really need help! I have another open ticket that I think we need to do first, which is to update to the most current version. Before we try to solve this issue, I'd like to make sure we are on the current version.

Please call me to discuss if needed at 319.739.3520

Thank you,
Sherry

Hello Sherry,

At the back end of EasyBlog, you can actually mass move blog in between categories so I don't think that is an issue for you. As for the header however, you will need to customize them in the theme file /components/com_easyblog/themes/default/toolbar.php

Hello Sherry,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Please go to backend -> Extensions -> Extension Manager -> Manager. Here search for EasyBlog and then uninstall it. May I know where you are remigrating from? Are you getting you remigrating from another site or remigrating from another component?

- From another site
1. Go to your phpMyAdmin and delete all the EasyBlog tables. They are typically named #__easyblog_xxxx. Hope this helps.
2. Remigrate your posts.

- From another component
1. Go to backend -> EasyBlog -> Blogs. Delete the available blog post that you do not want.
2. Go to backend -> EasyBlog -> Migrator and click on Purge History.
3. Remigrate your posts.

Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry for the hasty reply. Please find it as revised.

I am trying to upgrade to the new version and was told to first uninstall, so I have uninstalled the older version, I've downloaded the new package and now when I try to install the new package, I have no idea which of the many folders the package downloaded should be browsed and pulled in. There should be much clearer instructions somewhere on upgrading. Please help me. I was told nothing would be lost by the upgrade. We did back everything up, but I need help reinstalling.

Hello Sherry,

All you need to do is to head on to http://stackideas.com/dashboard to download the single EasyBlog installer (If you haven't already done that). Once you have the zip file, simply go to the Extensions Manager at the back end of your Joomla site, click browse and select the file. Then hit the upload and install button.

Hello Mark,

I tried exactly that but when I browse for the zipped file that easyblog downloaded, I get an error that it's an invalid file type. So I unzipped and placed the contents in a folder on my desktop and it still wont accept the entire folder, it wants me to select one file.

Hello Sherry,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hello Sherry,

The problem is actually because the upload_max_filesize is currently set to 2mb only. Hence, you are hitting errors when installing the extension. There's 2 work around for this:

1. Contact your hosting provider to increase the upload_max_filesize to 10mb.

2. Provide us with the FTP access so that we can install it manually for you

Hello Sherry,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have tried to access in your FTP, it seems like you provided that login credential is not working, please advise.

Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

Actually you can contact with your hosting provider to increase the upload_max_filesize to 10mb, when you upload/install from extension manager it should be work fine after your hosting provider help you increase the upload_max_filesize to 10M ( http://screencast.com/t/ch3lTyEGRsXZ )
