Hi Mark,

Sorry to bother you again with wanting to remove more, but can you tell me how I can remove the "just registered" and "just updated" parts from streams?

I just want the streams to be simple, with pics and "Share whats new"...and thats about it.

Thanks
Katie
Hi Katie,

I am sorry for the late reply.

To stop adding for 'just registered' stream, go to EasySocial backend under settings -> registration -> stream and turn off the option 'Announce when new user registers on the site'.

To stop the 'just updated' stream, open the file JOOMLA/components/com_easysocial/controllers/profile.php and look for below code at line 161:

$my->addStream( 'updateProfile' );

Replace the above code with:

// $my->addStream( 'updateProfile' );

Basically you are adding two slashes to comment out the code.

Hope this help
Sam

The "just updated" part can be disabled from this page: yoursite/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=settings&layout=form&page=users in the section called "User activity stream".

I believe it will only apply to future stream items considering that what goes in the stream is "written records".

Yup it will only affect future stream generation.

There should be a feature in the core to not generate stream items for "just registered". Perhaps have this option near the one to hide the "just updated". In some communities if we are truly interested in seeing the latest member, we can view the latest user view.

Guys, in 1.2 you can configure this within the app itself So, no more hacking / touching / modifying any files. Just toggle the on / off switch

Just a heads up for newbies like me ... to disable the "just registered" stream, go to User - Profile in the Applications section.
