Actually you can edit back the post and remove the poll field and reference field
I've helped you remove it and it shows fine without the poll and reference field.

I only want them to appear as an option to add to a post, not automatic.

I believe your member must have tried to add additional polls and reference. You could try posting a new post / reply without entering those details and it would not be displayed.
