The reason why system append 1 or 1-1 from the blog URL is because system detected one of your existing blog post having the same blog URL alias, that is why it append 1 or 1-1 on the blog URL alias.

To remove this, you have to make sure your existing blog post do not have these following blog URL alias on your site :
- how-do-you-create-good-solid-friendships-and-keep-them
- attitude-starts-at-the-top
-how-does-your-attitude-effect-the-rest-of-the-areas-of-your-life

You have to check from your backend > Easyblog > blog > set the filter to 'trashed'.

Once you deleted those blog post, or you already deleted it previously, you have to edit the blog post and edit that URL alias and save again the blog post, you can refer on my attached screenshot below.

1. I dont see this menu Easyblog > blog > set the filter to 'trashed'. There is nothing in the backend after clicking easyblog that says "blog".

2. I already tried renaming or removing the alias and the number comes back.

3. I also have links that have a number 1st in the URL like this on other sites. Its automatically adding a number at the beginning. How do I stop that from happening?

It seems like that menu called it 'post', perhaps you can check my attached screenshot below.

Perhaps you can update your correct Joomla backend username and password so we can help you check on this.

Unfortunately that was not possible to prevent this, if the system detect your existing blog post permalink same as what you created a new blog post, it will automatically append the id behind the blog permalink, if not, system unable to determine this blog post under which post.
