Honestly, i am bit lost here actually.

Did you wanted to make sure that your users cannot register on other profile type rather than basic one? If, you can set you basic as default profile type and configure this settings here http://take.ms/zY8Ys.

If not, it would be best if you can provide us with more detail for further check on this issues. Please advice.
