Hi,

I can't seem to get the remote publishing to work at http://storycatchersonline.org/ Could you please take a look and see if you can get it working?

FYI:

1) I'm using port 465, for the imap.gmail.com server, which is what I got from Google Apps. (& the Google Apps admin@storycatchersonline.org address seems to work fine for the various notifications EasyBlog sends out for new registration requests, blog posts, etc.)
2) I believe cronjobs was previously installed on the site, but there were some server issues a while ago, and it is possible the previous cronjobs got lost in the shuffle of fixing the server issues.

Backend and FTP login details for the site are appended below. I've also appended the username and password for the Google Apps admin@storycatchersonline.org email, in case you need to get in there for some reason.

TIA

Jeff.
Hello Jeff,

I've re-configured the setting for remote publishing and it is working now: http://screencast.com/t/IkRIFwJbRiVQ . What I did was change the port to 993 and turn off this option: http://screencast.com/t/SyqHYPTT . This option is used to map email of the sender with user email. If there is no match, the email will not get pulled.

Hope this helps.

It works at last! Thanks Nik.

A couple of questions on using Remote Publishing:

1) Is there some way to get the images in Remote Posts to display in the upper-left quadrant of the post, rather than at the bottom, as is currently the case?
2) Is there some way to get the Remote Post attributed to the person who actually sent it, rather than to "Admin," as is currently the case?

Thanks again for getting this feature up and running properly.

Hello Jeff,

1) Sorry, it is not possible.
2) It is possible if you use the map email option. If the email used match the email of any of your users, it will get the user's name as the author. But the downside is, if the email not match, it will not get pulled.

Hope this helps.
