Hello,
after trying out for 2 days, I finally have to ask you.
First, there seems to be a bug. When you choose imap and port 993 you'll get no Server Access. Same with Pop and 995. But if you choose pop service with imap setting, it gets the access. It seems, that the template shows the wrong service. This kind of bug, you only find deep in the night after trying out everything else ...;-)

So I am able to get a test connection with the wrong service type: OK Gimap ready for requests from 46.163.74.4 r2if1011812eeo.109

The cron is: /bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://test4.autoundsport.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron";
It seems to work, the controlmail says: connected, awaiting respone, saving to `/dev/null

When I put the task in the browser manually, I get the following statement:
Email batch process finished.

Mailbox: Could not connect to mailbox.

There, the problem seems to be ...

Hello,

You should actually choose IMAP rather than POP3 but I tried to debug this on the site and it looks like the gmail login credentials is actually invalid. Can you please advise?

Hello,

I know. But as I wrote, the credentials are valide, when you choose POP and put the imap settings in your mask. When you choose the IMAP and put the imaps settings, you get the failiure.

Even, when you put
pop.gmail.com with the imap port 993 you get access with the pop service choosen.
With the right 995 for pop you have a auth problem.

Very strange...

There's actually no issue with the imap authentication but your password is missing the " . Hence, it doesn't work. I have set the proper password and it works fine now.

Email batch process finished.

Hello Mark,

this is , - I'm not able to say what... If you woulnd't live on the other side of the world, I would buy you a beer ...
I've checked this several times, seems, that I set the wrong creds before I changed the other things at last.

Two other things with that case:

1. The picture of the user shows not up at the home view (as it does with manually posts). It shows up in the detailled view and the model-view (latest...).

2. The attchments of the remote mail are missing. The mails have pdf's attached that needs to be attached to the blog post. How could we achieve that? (This is very important, otherwise the remote mail would be useless for us).

Mark, I'am afraid, but I fetch the following statement from the server:
Email batch process finished.

Mailbox: Could not connect to mailbox.
0 blog posts fetched from Twitter

Whats wrong?

Did you alter the settings again? It seems like the login credentials is invalid again. Can you please provide us with the login credentials for the email again.

1. The picture of the user shows not up at the home view (as it does with manually posts). It shows up in the detailled view and the model-view (latest...).

The theme that you are using, origami does not have avatar on the front page

2. The attchments of the remote mail are missing. The mails have pdf's attached that needs to be attached to the blog post. How could we achieve that? (This is very important, otherwise the remote mail would be useless for us).

Currently the remote publishing options only supports image unfortunately This is something that we plan to add in the future.

Hello Mark,

1. I could not achieve "success" with the creds when testing the connection. It might be a problem with the password itself, it has a double quote in it and there might be problems with the character encoding. I've changed the password to normal characters and for the first time I got the "success" mark when testing. So I set up the production server ... The cron works too.

The question I have: I set up the cron with a 11 Minutes period (due to imap restriction of gmail). On the other hand I set up another period at easyblog with check time intervall. How does this work together?

2. I think you could be wrong with the avatar and the origami theme. When you scroll down at the front page a bit, you'll see the manually posts. They all have the avatar ...

3. The attachment option for the remote mail is very important. Currently it's like a toothless tiger, quite useless... Do you think, that there is a solution in the very near future, or have you any advice for a turnaround or another product for that?

Thank you.

Regards
Hans-Georg

Hello Hans,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Please find the answers to your inquiries below:

The "Check time interval" is to ensure that no overlapping occurs. For example, if you set the cronjob to run every minute, the mail processing takes longer time than usual because it needs to connect to the mail server. If coincidentally, it takes 2 minutes to connect to the mail server due to the connection, the second cron would cause it to overlap.

2. I think you could be wrong with the avatar and the origami theme. When you scroll down at the front page a bit, you'll see the manually posts. They all have the avatar ...

Hm, yeah you are right! I got mixed up with the other theme, sorry! I have fixed this and it works fine now.

3. The attachment option for the remote mail is very important. Currently it's like a toothless tiger, quite useless... Do you think, that there is a solution in the very near future, or have you any advice for a turnaround or another product for that?

Unfortunately we don't have a work around for this yet currently If you need to add your own hacks, you can edit the file /components/com_easyblog/helpers/microblog.php
