Hi,

I have been going through the access settings to allow registered users to add posts to our Easy Blog install, however once an account has been set up and you try to log in front end you get this message:

"You cannot access the private section of this site"

Probably an easy solution but is it possible to set up easy blog so that registered users can post etc

The site is: http://www.ultimatefestivalguide.com/festival-news

Many thanks for your help

Andy
Hello Andy,

I believe your global configuration for register user to login to your site is currently set to denied. Please go to Joomla > Site > Global Configuration > Permission > Permission Settings > Registered > Site Login = Allowed. Here the screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/UH2XiNbt .
If this issue is still persist, perhaps you can provide us with backend access and ftp access so that we can helps you fix this issue much quicker.

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Hi Andy,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply. Regarding your issue where registered user not able to login to your site, I suspect one of your Joomla db table the jos_assets, the data was corrupted. Below link is what I found when I google.

http://docs.joomla.org/J2.5:Users_Cannot_Login_in_2.5.13

Look like there is 27 entries root asset which suppose to have only one. Did you recently just upgraded your Joomla from 1.5.x to 2.5.22? Anyway, can you pass me your ftp access and your phpMyAdmin access so that I can run the update statement from above link to fix your issue?

Please do a full db backup before i proceed to fix your Joomla assets table incase something unexpected happen and you still able to revert the changes to initial state

Please advise.

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi,

The site has always been on joomla 2.5 and I have only done updates as they have been available within the joomla admin.

I am unable to give you ftp access as we have a closed server that is only accessible by IP, but you have done something before via joomla admin and we do have phpmyadmin for all sites on the server, so I will need to set up an account just for this one site for you to use

Many thanks

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the phpMyAdmin access. It seems like your issue indeed caused by the corrupted Joomla jos_assets table. After I executed the below sql, I am now able to login to your Joomla site frontend using 'registered' user account

UPDATE `jos_assets` SET `parent_id`=1 WHERE `parent_id`=0 AND id>1;

Please give it a try again

Hope this help and have a nice day
