Very odd problem. I have a site set up with Easysocial, Easyblog and Kunena. I have been slowly getting Easysocial ready to go public on the site, and tonight I reset things to get the following to work.

I wanted to use the EasySocial profiles (as well as other features of course). I want to integrate and use the Easysocial Avatars on both the EasyBlog and the Kunena profile links. I believe I have it working for everyone but my own account. I set up a test account and it works fine. I also have a superuser account which works fine.

My personal account which was set up as a superuser also can log in, I can see everyone elses profiles, but I cannot edit, nor see my own.

I have put my site user name and password below so you can test it.

I reset up the superuser account for you and that information (second site log in) is in the FTP login blanks. Hopefully that makes sense.

The other oddity is that when I log in using my account or the test account, I show the user bar called "correct bar.jpg" attached. When I log in as Super User I get a user bar that looks like the second attachment called "oddbar.jpg" I cannot figure out why I am getting different user bars? any thoughts?

Thank you so much in advance if you can help me out on these two questions.

Gary Bashor
Hi,

1. Please elaborate more what why you are not able to edit your own account (since the account was not provided, we can't further investigate). Were there any errors shown?

2. This is because you have different profiles assigned for different users, and different profiles can have different theme assigned. Go to backend -> EasySocial -> Profiles -> Select Profile to set the theme.

I included the account log in, but will add it down below again. If you log into the site with those credentials, then on the top user menu (the one ABOVE the blue bar) and select "User Profile" you get a blank page, or at least I do. I can hover over the online user and see the profile balloon, and if I log in as a different user (regular or super) I can see it, but not my own. All other accounts seem to be able to see their own fine.

the login below is a super user account.

The second problem I listed, you hit that one on the head. I had a profile with an odd theme assigned. That is fixed. Thank you!

Hello Gary,

Hm, yeah you are right and I tried to turn on error reporting to Maximum / Development and there are no errors showing up on the screen. I tried to login to the FTP server with the provided login credentials and it isn't working either

Thank you Mark:

I did not add the FTP info before. I used that spot to add the super user account I set up

In any event, the info is attached. It is odd that only one user seems to be affected. I hate to delete and recreate, as it is my account, and I have made a great deal of the content posts on the site.

I was scanning the support forum and noted THIS QUESTION which seems like it could be related. I am at a loss.

Really liking the software as I explore it so I hope I can get it all working right!

OK - a bit more info.

If I log in as any other user than 'Makotosun", I can click on the profile for makotosun and get there. I can also see the profile of the user name I log in under.

The address that shows in the web browser is as follows:

http://www.yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/component/easysocial/profile/989-makotosun?Itemid=

If I log in as 'Makotosun", I can see every profile except for Makotosun. The browser address is as above, but the screen is completely blank. I also tried it in Chrome, IE 11 and Firefox with the same result. Everything else seems to work. If I click on my joomla menu to get to the easysocial photo galleries I can see the blue bar and get to all menu links except for "profile". I can even edit the profile, just not see it.

thoughts? Login for Makotosun is below.

Hello Gary,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. After debugging this the entire day, I believe that there is a possibility the memory_limit has been reached or some 3rd party plugins is hitting some errors when EasySocial is rendering the stream item for Kunena replies. After I commented out the activity stream for replies in Kunena, the site seems to be behaving correctly now.

Mark - no need for apology! I think your company's user support is amazing. Seriously! That I even got an answer on a weekend is really cool. Especially since we are half a world (and nearly opposite time zones!) apart.

As far as my issue, you are correct, it appears to be functioning as expected. Thank you very much. Is there something I had set incorrectly that caused the problem?

A couple of other comments - not related to this issue:

1. Your site (stackideas.com) will not let me sign in using my ipad. It seems to be the way the drop down log in works. Certainly not a huge deal, but if you had a regular log in link available (maybe I just haven't found it) that would help us who surf from the couch!

2. I get the screen attached when I try to upload a new cover photo. I believe it is because the file size exceeds 2 meg which is the base PHP setting. Is that a correct assumption? I am in the process of changing that for the site, but was curious if that is a common issue. If the error message were to indicate that for future users that may be of help for your program development.

I think the software is really amazing and am having a great time playing with it and learning how to make it integrate with my site.

Keep up the good work. I will try not to continue to be a pest

OK - It was working fine and now it is not again. I can see everyone else's profiles, but not my own when logged in.

The user name is for Makotosun.

I then tried to log in using one of my other test accounts and can see the profile for the logged in account again just fine.

I can then look at the profile for Makotosun and it shows up fine when logged in as someone else. I will try to completely reboot my computer and see what if anything that does, but but am at a loss. Sorry again for continuing to be a problem

thanks again.

One more tidbit:

If I am logged in as Makotosun and click on the little home "Dashboard" button, I get a blank screen. If I am logged in as anyone else and do that, I get the correct dashboard.

thanks.

so now I am wondering, based on your answers, did you essentially set it so that my account Kunena posts will not now show up in the stream? that appears to be what is happening.

I have also had several intermittent issues in being able to see my own profile (makotosun), though I can see others, and when logged in as a different use, I can see that users' own profile as well as that of Makotosun. A bit frustrating.

If we were to use a different forum software, including possibly easydiscuss, would that address the issue you are seeing?

thank you again for all the help and - yes - I do know it is still the weekend there. Just updating you with all the info I can to help you help me

Hi Gary,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Today I logged in to your site as Makotosun and I am able to see the profile page and dashboard page of this user. Please see:

Is your issue now resolved?
Please advise.

It seems to have the main issue resolved of allowing me to see my own profile, thought it has come and gone a few times.

My other follow up question (the one directly above your reply) about whether this means the forum posts from kunena will not be available on the wall and ways that can be resolved is still unanswered.

Thank you!

Hello Gary,

I am still figuring out why would the "reply" stream from Kunena is causing the page to go blank. I will let you know my findings.

Thanks Mark!

I would really like the user page to be able to show the Kunena posts, and one thing to consider for future (it may already be there and I just have not discovered it!) would be a way to have new forum posts or at least replys to subscribed threads be indicated somewhere on either the notification bar or somehow integrated into the user page. Maybe an additional feature for the Kunena forum integrator? Please don't view this as a complaint I am amazed at how cool the software is and what I as a newbie am able to make it all do! My user base is very positive about it so far. My suggestions are hopefully taken in a positive way!

My other question of whether using your forum (easydiscuss) would address the issue and place the forum posts in a user feed was not answered and that is a consideration. I like the look and feel of Kunena better (sorry!) as it seems to be an easier transition for most of my users who are used to a Vbulliten layout. Baby steps for them!

Thanks again - your customer service is amazing!

Hello Gary,

Did you change the password on the site? I can't seem to login any longer

Yep, in the next update for the "kunena" app, we do plan to integrate it with our internal notification system just like how EasyDiscuss, EasyBlog and Komento works but again, there's a lot more that we could do but only time would tell

Hello Gary,

I am really sorry, I missed this thread earlier. I believe this issue is exactly the same issue as http://stackideas.com/forums/administrator-cannot-see-certain-profiles . Let's continue our discussion there
