Hi

I just installed EasySocial. I need to create users automatically from Zapier, and as long as no Zapier integration for Joomla is available, I'm going to do it with an SQL-Query sent from Zapier.

My goal is to create a user and have it to reset the password upon the first login. Manual user registration should be and is turned off by default.

If such a user is logging in on the community page (easySocial) for the first time, he/she will be redirected to the default Joomla user editing page to change the password. After the password was changed successfully, the user remains on the Joomla user edit page.

Two questions:
1. Is it possible to let EasySocial handle the password reset request in the same beautiful way it handles user registrations?
2. If the answer to the first question is "no", is it possible to redirect the user back to the community page after he/she has changed the password?

Thank you and kind regards,
Stefan
Hey there,

Oh I see.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to do that currently at this point of time.

Do you mean that you want the users to redirect to the dashboard instead of own profile after editing their own profile which includes changing password?

If yes, currently the default behavior for it redirect to their own profile.

Hi Irwin

Thank you for your reply. I've attached a screencast of what I mean about redirect the user to the community back. In the video you can see
1. the user is logging into easysocial
2. as the user is required to reset the password he is redirected to the profile edit page of joomla
3. the user changes his password
4. the user has to manually click on the menu item to get back to the community

I would like to automate step 4.

Thank you and kind regards, Stefan

Hi Irwin

I have an update on this. It seems to be possible. There exists a plugin called "System - EasySocial" which redirects calls to com_users. The plugin was active but the option to redirect was disabled. After enabling the option, the user will be redirected to the profile page in EasySocial after changing the initial password.

Kind regards, Stefan
