I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, not entirely sure if I understand you here but with Joomla, you can restrict menu items depending on their viewing levels. What you could do is to assign the menu item to "Registered" only.

This way, if the user tries to access the particular page, they would then be redirected to the login page
