https://www.szenenight.de/netzwerk/partykalender/6536-stubu-freitag-9.html

How to get avoid of the counting?
Btw. it could be usefull to have the DATE and time included not a simple number

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Currently I am not really sure what is the root issue for this since other support moderator not around during weekend, but based on what i checked, the reason why it added that event number for the recurring event title was fix for this https://stackideas.com/forums/sef-seo-issue-on-event-detail-pages

I will consult with our developer regarding this on this coming Monday and see either we can use canonical link to solve this or only modify the meta title tag without touch anything with the recurring event title.

I will keep you update regarding this on this Monday.

Hey Kai,

I already checked with our developer regarding this, the reason why we show the counter for those recurring event is fix for the Google duplicate title issue.

Now I've applied some temporary fix on your site.

JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/page/title/title.php
JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/group/title/title.php
JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/event/title/title.php
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/models/clusters.php

It should populate that event start date for those recurring event title, in the next version, we will add an option to allow admin to decide whether they want to show counter or event start date on the event recurring page.

Can you try create a new test event and see is it show correctly now?

Frontend work - some small sugesstions on this: add the date infront of the Eventname - and add the Date as well to the mother event to create a completed look and feel ;-)

I've applied some fix into this following files.

JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/event/title/title.php
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/models/clusters.php

It should work fine when you create recurring event from backend.

Frontend work - some small sugesstions on this: add the date infront of the Eventname - and add the Date as well to the mother event to create a completed look and feel ;-)

Thanks for your suggestion Kai

Perhaps you can submit this suggestion on our forum Easysocial feature request page here https://stackideas.com/forums/easysocial/feature-requests-2 so we will see if there a lot of user request this as well, we will definitely consider add it as an option so user can decide display date before/after beside the event title.

Hm, actually that date format is translated from PHP, can you check my attached screenshot below and see March is it translated to the correct German language?

Or are you prefer to show 13.02.2018 this date format?

I will put it as the language constant in next release version, so user can override this language constant to his favorite date time format.

Alright, I've applied some fix in this file JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/event/title/title.php on your site.

It should show this format now 13.02.2018.

By the way, this is not the final fix yet, because i realised when we append the date on those same event title is not the good solution.

I will discuss with our team again regarding this.

ok - let me know - just an idea on this:
could you make the date be part of the url and the meta title of every event (optional). then i think it could be fine with google as well.
so you got unique urls and different meta titles.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion and your feedback. Currently the recurring events is already using the event id so the url will be unique enough

Anyway, we will consider to add the date of the recurring event as part of the sef url in the future release of EasySocial.

Thank you and have a nice day
Sam

Hi - yes the URL is with event id unique - thats total right, but google check as well the meta title of the page.

Now with your local fix, it changes the EVENT TITEL and the META TITEL and the URL

I dont want to have the date in URL and in the Event Name - i need to have DATE in META TITLE and META DESCRIPTION IN EVERY EVENT because this will fix the google seo problem caused by double META TITLE and META DESCRIPTION.

And it hast to be in EVERY EVENT not only recurring events - because it could be that a single event could have the same name but not be recurring

Hello Kai,

I have reverted back those appending date/numbering on event title and modified this file: ../administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/cluster/cluster.php to add date on meta title and description.

We will see what is the best approach to fix this.

Hope this helps.

Hi, title is fine - meta description not - and Date has to include to ALL Events not only recurting events, and included at beging of title and description. Thats fine for me if you will find any better solution for stable version - but for know i need a quick nix because my ranking is goning down since i use easysocial :-(

Hi Nik, sorry again - but the date has to be in title and description infront of the title and description

is this the change?

$title = $this->getName() . ' - ' . $eventStartDate;
$desc = strip_tags($this->getDescription()) . ' - ' . $eventStartDate;

Hello Kai,

Yes, you just move it to the front:

$title = $eventStartDate . ' - ' . $this->getName();
$desc = $eventStartDate . ' - ' . strip_tags($this->getDescription());
