Hi there,

I was wondering if there are any maintenance scripts in EasySocial you'd recommend running on a weekly or monthly basis.

I've noticed a few issues in my local testing like sample users that have been deleted still show in the search section's drop-down results. When clicked, you are redirected to the 404 page.

Also, images that still show in the "Recent Images" module for events and groups that have also been deleted. It seems only the site admin can view and delete them. When a registered user or guest clicks on an image thumbnail in the module, the lightbox shows, but with a "restricted" message.

I wasn't sure if running a maintenance script periodically when alleviate these issues.

Thanks.
Hi Justin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the above, I've fixed the issue internally and also applied the patch at your test site. Can you give it a try again? The fix will only affect for the new delete action. So to test the fix, you will need to delete event again. For people who also encounter the same issue, download the attached php files and:

1. Copy 'cluster.php' to folder JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/cluster/ and overwrite the existing file.
2. Copy 'group.php' to folder JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/group/ and overwrite the existing file.
3. Copy 'event.php' to folder JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/event/ and overwrite the existing file.

The above fix will be added into next release of EasySocial.
Hope this help and have a nice day
Sam

Hello Justin,

Regarding your issues:
1. if there are any maintenance scripts in EasySocial you'd recommend running on a weekly or monthly basis.
>> There is no maintenance script in which we recommend for you to run. The maintenance script is intended for installation clean up / maintenance.

2. sample users that have been deleted still show in the search section's drop-down results. When clicked, you are redirected to the 404 page.
>> This is because of the smart search indexes. You should purge the data from the smartsearch and reindex back the smartsearch so that the deleted indexes are removed.

3. images that still show in the "Recent Images" module for events and groups that have also been deleted. It seems only the site admin can view and delete them. When a registered user or guest clicks on an image thumbnail in the module, the lightbox shows, but with a "restricted" message.
>> I am sorry, I can't replicate this issue with our local. May I know how do you remove the photo? Do you physically delete the file or you're using the delete button? Perhaps you can provide us with backend access and FTP access as well so that we can help you check on this issue.

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Thanks! The purging of the index did the trick.

As far as recent images, I should clarify that I'm using EasySocial Recent Photos (MOD_EASYSOCIAL_PHOTOS_DESC ) module. I've included the FTP and login info and ran another test by:

1) Creating an event with images (see 1-event_images.jpg)
2) Deleting event and then viewing the Recent Photos module (see 2-after_deleted_event.jpg)
3) As a registered user, trying to view the image (see 3-try_viewing_thumb.jpg).

The only way the images can be deleted is when viewing as an admin, where I can delete the image, but the image's folder in the media folder still exists.
