Hi,

If you guys had tutorials (youtube clips) showing how to set up or customise profiles that would be v useful!

I'd like to rearrange the order of modules on my profile and news feed and can't work out how to do this. I found the Module Positions support page (stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/module-positions) but this doesn't explain it.

The default setup includes a bunch of positions:
eg. Position: es-general-top [ Style: xhtml outline]
... but it doesn't seem like modules are currently assigned to these positions.

How do I rearrange (or unpublish) these existing modules on profiles or ES home pages or do I need to set up new ones and then rearrange them?

Cheers

David

Actually, i am bit lost here. Can you explain more thoroughly regarding this?

You can re-arrange them by going to you frontend(your pages) and the put ?tp=1 for example your-site.com/index.php/blog?tp=1 but first you have to enable "Template preview" on your Backend>System>Global Configuration>Template as shown http://screencast.com/t/QQG8nUa4ti

It will shown you all position http://screencast.com/t/ozzRsKd4pp and you can re-arrange them again. Please advice.

Thanks Abdul, I use this technique and have the position names already.

Where are the modules that correspond to these positions or do I need to create new modules via Joomla for each module that's already shown? I've searched but no modules are assigned to these positions.

Thanks, but I haven't yet created those modules and when I search for these modules by position - they don't show up. Do I need to create these modules first? But surely they've already been created to be assigned to these positions? Please explain

Yes you are. You have to create them first and if you search them but not assigned any module to them, it will shown you empty result.

But surely they've already been created to be assigned to these positions? Please explain

Yes it is but, if you use 3rd party template, you have to manually add them to your module positions. Please give it a try and see how it goes
