Quick question: do i need Easyblog in order to register points to the user for "Reading an article"? If not, how does easysocial add points to the user for reading a Joomla article? When i login to the frontend as registered user and then navigate to read an article, my points do not change. Thanks
Hi there,

Have you enable the point for "Read Article" as shown http://prntscr.com/cw3kf4 and enable "Default application: " for article in applications section as shown http://prntscr.com/cw3kow ? And can i know steps on how you read the articles? on which link and can you provide us with your back end access for further check on this issues?

The "Read Article" point was already enabled. I did, however change the "default application" for the articles in the application settings to match your screenshot but this did not appear to change anything.

Once i did that i logged in on the frontend and viewed a random article. For example: http://mastershouse.org/bible-study/what-must-we-do

To access this article/portfolio item, it is located on the Main Menu >> Bible Study >> What Must We Do. I also view any of the "sermons" on our site (which are articles) and the point system didn't change.

You should have access to the backend of my website from the last ticket i created.

...in conjunction with my previous question. I have a component called Zephaniah Bible. This component allows the user to read the Bible. I would like the user to earn a point for reading a chapter (similar to reading an article) of the Bible. The component breaks down the Bible like so:

http://......./standard/kjv/1-genesis/28-chapter
http://......./standard/kjv/1-genesis/29-chapter
http://......./standard/kjv/1-genesis/30-chapter

The "standard" is the preferred version of the Bible
The "kjv" is the version of the Bible
The "1-genesis" is the book in the Bible
The "28-chapter" is the chapter in the Bible

Would i have to create my own point award to go along with this component?...or would these links be considered articles and they would be covered under the existing point "Read Article"? Is it even possible to create my own point award to go along with this component? Or would it be better to copy the chapters of the Bible into a Joomla article (which would take forever)?

Does your support team offer (for a fee) to create the points for 3rd party components?

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay of this reply.

After checking on this issues, it seems that your article is under "TZ Portfolio" components and when we view the articles, EasySocial Article applications will consider that you are reading portfolio not article as you can see on link below for your references.

Your URL
xxx/index.php?option=com_tz_portfolio&view=portfolio&Itemid=455
My URL
xxx/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4

Would i have to create my own point award to go along with this component?...or would these links be considered articles and they would be covered under the existing point "Read Article"? Is it even possible to create my own point award to go along with this component? Or would it be better to copy the chapters of the Bible into a Joomla article (which would take forever)?

Does your support team offer (for a fee) to create the points for 3rd party components?

Regarding this, if you required us to perform the customization for you, you can always request for a quote from us at https://crm.stackideas.com and select "Customizations" . Our sales person would be glad to send you a quote for the customizations that you have requested.
