Hi there,

since people tend to write long comments (what is much welcome on my site), a thread soon becomes difficult to oversee. You have to scroll waaay down.

Question:
how can I implement something analog to the 'read more' link in Joomla articles?
I'd like to set a number of characters that will be displayed anyway and if the length of the comments exceeds this number, the whole comment is only unfolded when 'read more' is clicked. The same functionality as you see it i.e. in Facebook.

How would that be possible?

Thx,
Stefan
Hi Stefan,

You can enable the truncation setting in the (settings>layout>general>enable Automatically Truncate Comment and set the length of the content before it truncated) as shown here https://take.ms/Nc8RK

Hope this helps

What exactly happens, when comments are 'truncated'?

What I definietly don't want is that some of their input is deleted and lost!
This is why I didn't try this function.

Will the whole text still be there and visible when the comment is clicked?
