Ah okay, so turning that on won't work if they have to activate first via an email link as that is what we are currently getting users to do.

Well yes we have that turned on, but it would still be useful to have a re-direct on first login irrespective of how the user signed up. It seems like a bug that the re-direct on first login doesn't work if they had to verify their account (email) first?

This is not a bug and it is a feature that was requested by our customer to automatically redirect the user upon registration on a custom page for automated logins.

I think we are talking at cross purposes - I really do want the feature to redirect users when they log in for the first time, but the issue is that it only works if they sign up via social media (JFBConnect), since we have normal (ES registration) set so that they need to use the verification code before they can log in, and those users don't then get re-directed on their first login.

As we do not have this feature yet (except for automatic login). Perhaps, you can create a new ticket under feature request so that our developer can keep track the feature that might be implement in the future
