Hello!

I hope you're well and I hope you can help me fix a part of EasyBlog that isn't working well.

On the 'Quick Post' function, once logged in, if I enter some text or upload a photo, etc, and then click submit nothing happens. The loading icon appears and nothing is submitted.

Do you know why it would do that?

Thanks for your support,
Best,
Ben
Ok, I'll contact my developer and have him do that.

Thank you so much for all of your help, you were fantastic, and I'm very grateful to you and your team.

Have a great weekend!

Hello Ben,

I have checked your site and when it's posting to http://www.eslrok.com/?option=com_easyblog , it's getting a blank page. I seem to be hitting the same issue if I access your site via http://www.eslrok.com/ . Can you please advise?

Hello, good morning!

The link to the blogs is: http://www.eslrok.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=latest&Itemid=599. This will help you see the EB component. Thanks for your support.

Ben.

Hello Ben,

Yes, that is the correct URL but ajax calls are made to http://www.eslrok.com/?option=com_easyblog and as posted on the other thread, this issue is because when you access the site with http://www.eslrok.com/ , it's throwing a blank page

Ah, I see, thanks for noticing that.

The blank page eslrok.com is to stop people from accessing the site while we are still building it, so we access the test site using eslrok.com/index.php. We will soon change the home page to eslrok.com (without index.php) but we are not at that stage yet.

How can we redirect so that the ajax calls from an address that includes index.php?

Thanks again for your support and patience.

Hello Ben,

Ah, unfortunately you can't "redirect" these requests because when a redirect occurs, all the "POST" data will be missing

I see, thanks.

The problem is that I'm not a developer and I don't have much knowledge about this kind of thing -- so I have no idea how to solve this problem.

If you were in my position, what would you do? Can I fix this without reinstalling everything (EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss)? Is there some editing I can do in the source files to fix this?

What I'm confused about is that this is a new problem; it used to work fine, even with the index.php added. I did change servers a few months ago: do you think this might have caused the problem?

Like I said, I don't know how to solve this kind of problem, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you for all your support so far.

Best,
Ben

Hello Ben,

If you place the index.php file back, it should actually work because the problem now is when accessing your site via http://www.eslrok.com/ it's returning a blank page.

Hello,

I'm not sure what you mean by 'place it back'. Could you please tell me what that is using very simple language? (I have no web developing knowledge ) Thanks so much.

Hello Ben,

The reason that your AJAX calls are failing is because of this. You mentioned that you are preventing people from accessing the site while you are building it. I would advise that you restore the original contents and set the site to "offline" via Joomla's Global Configuration so that the ajax calls could still access the site via http://eslrok.com/ (without the index.php)
