I've tried to replicate this issue locally, seems like I'm unable to reproduce it. However, after a long way of troubleshoot this issue, in your site when it using Jtext::_ and have comma(,) it will strip the description.
I was suspected that this issue is because you are using older version of Joomla.
I've fix this by remove the JText in the file:
.../components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/toolbar/default.php
in line 29

p/s: I would suggest you to upgrade your Joomla version to the latest as in the incoming EasyBlog 5.1 we only support Joomla 3.x onward
