Hello Guys,

I do not seem to have the option to assign easy social modules such as "Suggestions", "Online Friends", "Your Friends" as when I try to create a new module, i do not get the option of these from the list of possible easy social modules. Am I doing something wrong?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated as I would like to display friend suggestions on the dash board as well as online friends but can't seem to find a module for them
Hello Michael,

Ah, you need to customize the theme file which is located in /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/profile/default.php

Oops! My bad. Well, could you give me some guidance as to how I could reposition the widgets cos i know the widgets have their own position (e.g aboveHeader - Appears on the user's profile above the header, sidebarBottom - Appears on the user's profile sidebar at the bottom. sidebarTop - Appears on the user's profile sidebar at the top.)

Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Thanks Mark, i'll work on figuring that out.

I would also appreciate it if you have a look at the issues i raised with you yesterday to which you applied fixes,, they are still subsisting.

Thanks

I'm still finding it hard to decrypt and insert the right code to display friend suggestions on the dash board, so any further assistance on this issue would be greatly appreciated Mark. I guess i gotta undergo some extensive PHP course.

cheers!

Hello Michael,

Hm, the friend suggestion actually appears on the dashboard. Not sure what you are trying to achieve here though. Are you trying to reposition it?

Michael, sorry to keep asking you this but can you please provide us with the screen shot of what you are trying to achieve? I am actually a little lost here.

Hello Mark,

I do apologise for the rather crude way of putting the message across which seems to be complicating matters. I'll try explaining with screen shots.

Find attached a screen shot of another user who has achieved the desired result. It's the attached image beneath that displays the suggested friends on the general feeds page.

And while i have got your attention, i would like to chip in a few other things.

(1) I would like to have "timeline" posts restricted to viewing of the post maker and the wall owner. Presently, users are given the option when writing on timelines to share with either everyone, registered users,my friends, only me and specific friends. (see fig 2). I want to remove these options so that timeline comments remain between the make and recipient by default. Please advice

(2) On the News page when general feeds are displayed, users can post comment and like above, have the option to choose to share such general post with either everyone, registered users,my contacts, only me or specific friends. (see fig 3) I want to edit this so that the options of who to share with will be either "my friends" or "specific friends" ONLY. Please advice.

Hello Michael,

Your message is actually pretty confusing as I don't really understand what you are still trying to achieve here. If you are trying to achieve what the first screen shot is doing, you need to edit the language file to change the text from "Suggestions" to "People You May Know". As for your other inquiries please find the answers below:

I am sorry but unfortunately it's not possible to customize this because if you change this, everywhere else that relies on the privacy would be affected.
