I was informed through the old ticket system that the Echo Demo is using the core Smart Search module. But it has the styling and function of the EasySocial search module. How do I implement EasySocial Search module's styling to Smart Search Module, like the template demo?

Left: Smart Search
Right EasySocial Search
Regarding this, you have to use custom css to make it show the same styling like Easysocial search module in Echo template, because the all the existing Joomla module do not have the same class name from the output so that was difficult for us to manage show all the same styling like Easysocial search module.

How modified is the module? Or are all the edits done within Joomla's backend and CSS?

Yes, you can use custom css to achieve this, once you got that custom css you can put into this custom.css file JoomlaFolder/templates/echo/css/custom.css.

Hm. I may have come across a bug that is contributing to my problem. Despite the Smart Search plugins being enabled, they're still not showing on the frontend.

Back to the main discussion, however... I don't believe I can do this with CSS alone. The markup is completely different. Why not make the module used on Echo demo available for download?

Hey David,

Hm. I may have come across a bug that is contributing to my problem. Despite the Smart Search plugins being enabled, they're still not showing on the frontend.

Do you mean Easydiscuss smart search option not appear on the module? Is it possible provide us with your development site Joomla backend and FTP access so I can help you check on this issue quickly and with your main issue as well?

Original post updated with credentials.

Correct. As provided in my screenshot, only EasySocial populates Smart Search. Please note that Echo has been disabled in favor of a different template.

Thanks David getting back to us quickly.

I have a little bit lost here, are you referring Easysocial search module or Joomla smart search module? Because what i noticed is you only have display Easysocial search module on your site.

If you referring Easysocial search module, the reason why it didn't populate those group/event/page/album options on the Easysocial search page is because your site do not have create any group/event/page on your site yet, so the system will check if there do not have these index from your smart search record, then it will not populate those search option on the page.

I currently have Smart Search disabled. If you publish it, it should only be viewable with your level of access. I'm using the EasySocial Search Module right now because of my current issue with the Smart Search Module.

At first i did filter "smart search" module type from your module manager page, but that is not found any smart search module, you can check my attached screenshot below.

After that I create another smart search module called "testing - smart search" module from your site, it only showing following search type which is correct :
1. Categories
2. Easydiscuss
3. Easysocial photo
4. Easysocial User

You can check my video here : http://take.ms/prCom
If those item get indexed from the smart search component, it will populate that search type on the smart search module.
If don't have, it will not appear on the search smart module.

I now believe there's miscommunication and lacking understanding of what and how the module works. I believe the demo is using EasySocial Search Module and not Smart Search. After enabling more apps within EasySocial, I noticed more options became searchable.

The support I was previously provided was incorrect information if this is true, which is unfortunate because it lead me to believe false information, like a misleading demo of the Echo template. It caused a loss of sale via refund on your end, and I'm very sorry about that.

Honestly, I don't mind waiting a little bit longer for a response if it means getting the right information.
