when I import items from the rss feed importer, there is not always a cover picture (see the attached capture):
- how can I automatically put a picture when there is none?
- can the photo that will be uploaded be customized according to the category of the blog?
Thanks and happy new year
I was unable to login on your site backend but I already help you override that placeholder image on your current template directory folder, you can check my attached screenshot below.

Can you try check it again and see did it show correctly with the custom placeholder image for those blog post which do not have post cover?

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holidays for us here.

If your RSS feeds doesn't have put the cover image as enclosure tag from the introtext, it will not import into Easyblog.

And that is not possible to upload default placeholder cover image for certain category.

but you can set the default cover placeholder image for all the post if detected the post doesn't have post cover.

You can upload your cover image into your current template location here JoomlaFolder/templates/YourCurrentTemplate/html/com_easyblog/images/placeholder.png

That image filename have to same as placeholder.png.

Thank you for your answer but I think that if I apply this method then at the next update of the component then the image will be replaced by your image again.

I would like to find another definitive method

Hey Verclytte,

As Arlex pointed out, if you upload it into your Joomla template folder, it will not be overwritten when you upgrade EasyBlog in the future. This is the only way to create overrides without getting affected when you upgrade.

You have to manually create a new folder for `images` under `com_easyblog` then only put your `placeholder.png` under `images` folder.

Hope this will help.

+1 for a default image placeholder PER category
I too import RSS feeds and it would be nice to have an image per category :-)
Thanks for considering this

I'm sorry but I can not do the procedure at all. Can you do it for me or tell me another way to do it because, a priori, this does not work.

Hey Verclytte,

Sure, you can update your correct site backend and FTP login credentials at your first post (edit) so we can help you do it.

And attach your placeholder image which you would like to override it.
