What is the purpose of "Registered User" vs "Jomsocial User" profile types?
How are they different?
if its relevant I'm migrating from jomsocial but have created several custom fields under "registered"
Hello Troy,

Profile types allows your users on the site to have different registration types. For instance, if you have a "Teacher" profile type, you might want to ask different questions when the user registers as opposed to the "Student" profile type.

Does this make sense to you?

You can have different custom fields between the profile types. In addition to this there are other cool perks for example you could theoretically create a "Pro" profile type that allows the user to upload 10 times as many photos as a normal user.
