Is there any chance that you can configure easysocial so that all guest/public users can view the complete timeline without having to register and log in? I reference this on the main page of of your easysocial demo:
--------------------------------
You need to have an account to read the rest of the stream items. If you don't have an account yet, you will need to register first.

----------------------------------
Here is what I am trying to create on my web site. I want candidates for elective office to create profiles and post to the timeline for voters to be able to read. I don't want the average voter to have to create an account and login just to get more info about a candidate. In other words I want the option to be able to make all of easysocial readable by the public.

If you are trying to create a Facebook like component, this would seem to be a logical step. What good is a timeline if only logged in users can view it? Wouldn't it be as simple as setting up the ACL for viewing the timeline/stream? PLEASE tell me you have this coming in a future version! Thank you.
Hello there,

Sorry for the delay of this reply. Please find those answer below:

You can set those setting at backend>components>easysocial>settings>stream>pagination http://screencast.com/t/u6wlgkOWF and set to highest.

I will consult this issues with my team and see how it goes.

To further clarify what I would like to accomplish with ES.

I would like to see a Public 'Profile Type' as a default type just as you have a Registered 'Profile Type'. It would have all the same options as any 'Profile Type' for those who want to limit access to the Public users. But it would by default be set up to give the Public users full access to all features WITHOUT HAVING TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND LOGIN.

Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about this. Thanks.

Hey Randi,

Correct me if I getting wrong of you meaning in your previous reply, do you mean `PUBLIC` user (without create an account on the site) also can like and comment on the stream?

If yes, it seems like Facebook also didn't allow public user to have permission to like and comment on other people stream.

Now I'll be the first to admit I don't use Facebook a lot and don't know all the ins and outs about it, but from what little managing of the page that I created and my own personal account, plus a few other pages and accounts I have visited, you can definitely comment on posts made by the owner. If I make my Facebook 'Public' then users can absolutely comment and read the complete timeline. Am I missing something here? (see attachment)

Hello there,

You definitely can like and comment on Facebook once you have login on your Facebook account.

If I make my Facebook 'Public' then users can absolutely comment and read the complete timeline

As stated above, you stated that user, already registered can view your public Facebook account and read those comment and complete timeline. If we as a guest/public we only can view their timeline but we are not able to like and comment because guest/public are anonymous. Facebook and our EasySocial need User id to be able to like and comment on others post. Correct me if i said wrongly.

Oh man do I feel like a dumby ! I have been logged into Facebook for so long that I forgot that I was logged in while viewing mine and other pages, and that's why I could comment and view everything! You are absolutely correct about how Facebook works and I apologize for my brain fart! I will go ahead and install and configure ES and see how the users like it. Probably have a note explaining it is like Facebook so please register and log in. I FINALLY get it! Thanks for staying with me trying to figure this out. I will mark this as solved!

Though I must admit I would still like to have this :

I would like to see a Public 'Profile Type' as a default type just as you have a Registered 'Profile Type'. It would have all the same options as any 'Profile Type' for those who want to limit access to the Public users. Hi there,

You are most welcome. Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved now.

Sure you can achieve that by set those option at Backend>Components>EasySocial>Profile Types>Type of role>ACL.

As a gentle reminder, kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock this thread.

P/S: In the future, please start a new ticket for any new questions rather than posting on your existing thread as it would be more difficult for us to manage in the future.

Regards
