Hi All,

Now that I am starting to dig deeper into ES I have a few elementary questions.:
First: I have found something kind of odd. There is a module that seems to allow registration to a specific profile type. When I enabled this and tried to test it, it actually selected the default profile type with an option for the user to switch profile types and the user then has to select the profile type that the module was set up to direct them to. Am I missing something in my configuration as I would love for that module to actually direct the user to that specific profile type's registration without them having to select it manually from a list. I fear it could confuse the end user.

Second: Is it possible to have the user's perma link url NOT include the word "community", but rather simply be http :// mysite. com/profile/user_permalink?
As of now mine are showing "http ://mysite. com/community/profile/user_permalink" I tried to change the Community menu item and alias, but got a 404

Lastly, is there a way for the admin to push a post through all user's feeds?

I realize these are very basic questions and I hate to waste your time with them....Thanks so much in advance :-)
Steven
Hello Steven,

Please find the response to your inquiries below:

Hm, sorry but I am not really sure if I understand you here. What module are you referring to here?

You could achieve this by creating a menu item that links to the profile layout and give it an alias of "profile".

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the reply. The menu item worked great for the profile URL, thanks!

I was referring to the Quick Registration Module. It allows for a profile type selection when it's being set up in the backend, but defaults to the "default profile type" when clicked on the front end. Is there anyway to have it only show the profile type selected in the module configuration?
If it is not possible to have the Quick Registration default to the profile type selected in the module set up, is there a way that I can generate a menu item that only reflects registration for one profile type? I am wanting several profile types and am hoping there is a way for those users to simply go to a registration that only indicates their profile type without them having to select from a list. I don't mind using menu items for each of these registration types, but don't want to risk users selecting to register for a profile that is unintended for them. Basically, I am trying to do a work around for paid membership subscriptions without having to invest in Payplans at this stage.

Thanks in advance again!

Hello Steven,

I am sorry but I am not really sure if I understand you here. When you edit the registration module, you can actually already choose the profile type for the module. Is this not working for you? If you did not select a profile type in the module settings, it will always fallback to the default profile type.

Hello Mark!

Thanks for getting back to me. Okay, I need multiple profile types to be able to register for my community. Through extensive trial and error I have figured out that I have to set the profile type for Quick in main settings. This seems to be the only way to have the Quick Registration Module actually utilize the correct profile type that it is set for and not simply send the user to the default profile registration. I have seen another post at some point that referenced being able to create a menu item for a specific profile type's registration. Can you please tell me how this is done?

Thanks in advance!
Steven

Hello Steven,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Unfortunately right now there's no way to create a menu that loads up the registration page for specific profiles. Will see if we can add this into 1.4
