It seems when a user logs in, the admin can set their initial view (profile default start item - attached) as either "timeline" or "about" - is there a way to add a "Stream" to that list instead (recent friends posts)? -

The reason I ask is if that is set to "timeline" and you have a new user logging in, they wont see much activity so seeing other peoples posts might be more incentive for them to interact. (and if I add a Stream Module to that page it looks weird with 2 different streams - imo)

Thoughts?

You can set 'Dashboard Default Start Item' to shown 'Everyone' as shown http://take.ms/MgrON.

That has no affect. User still see's their own/friends posts in their default start stream..

There is no way around this currently. The solution which Warith posted earlier is to render everyone's post on the dashboard and not the profile layout. In the profile layout, you could only configure it to render the user's timeline or their about page.
