Profile-> Group shows wrong count

Hey guys,

My profile-group counts doesn't reflect my group counts from group menu... see screen

Hi Alex,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the group counts in profile page, because the profile page is accessible by everyone thus we do not want to show 'invited' to other users. Other users shouldn't know of the existence of these groups.

Anyway, I've added a fix where if the currently logged user viewing their own profile page, the invited group will be displayed to user. Attached the modified php file, please download the file and copy the file to folder 'JOOMLA/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/groups/widgets/profile/' and overwrite the existing view.html.php file. Remember to backup the original file first before you apply the fix


The fix will be added into next release of EasySocial as well

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your group count in your profile page, the group count actually only count the groups which is a 'open' groups. Look like you've created a 'invite' only group thus your this group is not counted.

Hey Sam,

This makes sense for the 'invite' groups OTHER than the ones am I in. This is simple if you got only a few but if you got a lot and you wanna know how much groups you are in... the count add and SQL count with a join beside user, groups and those where the trigger is invite.

Otherwise, what's the purpose of a counter if it doesn't count properly hey :P ?

Hi Sam,

That works as intent. That should be the real use of widget, if viewer is owner display invite, otherwise, it stays private.
Both good for user and both good for viewer other than viewer... you shall pull this ;P

Hey Sam,

I was looking to the group home page. The same trick you have done to the widget shall be enable for the category type that's even more funny considering that on top it shows one and below it shows 0 hehehe. See screen.
