Profile Details - Can custom fields be excluded at registration?

Hello,

We would like to add 5-10 more custom fields to a user's profile. However, we don't want new users to see these when they register. (They might think they're required or too takes too much work to join.)

Is it possible to add custom fields to a users profile and NOT have them show up as part of registration?

On the right side you see options of each custom field. You have to go to view and switch off appear on registration and switch on appear on edit. Maybe the translation differs since I have german language file, but the option is there.

profile types - select profile type - custom fields - go to desired custom field and check the options on the right

You can also make them appear on the registration but hide them in the mini registration. Then you can use the quick register module to make a mini registration as minimal as you like to.
