I have just installed easyblog 5 and have written a post. I saved it as a draft and then edited it. When ready I clicked on 'publish post' and it said your post is saving. Hoever the post remains as a draft and there is no way to publish it. I then tested it by writing a test post and clicking 'publish post' without saving a draft first and it said the post was saving again, but this time the post was not saved and all the content lost.

I also tried the preview button and the system said it was saving the post but no preview appeared.

I see lots of other users are having similar issues and it would be good to know if there is a solution.

----

UPDATE
I just tried changing the editor to JCE and saved the post and this time it said the post had been published successfully- and indeed it has - not sure if this helps
Hey Sam,

I also tried the preview button and the system said it was saving the post but no preview appeared.

Regarding the preview is not appear is most likely your current browser do not have permission to show pop up.
Example : https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95472?hl=en-GB

Regarding with your first issue, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Hi Arlex,

I use firefox and it tells me if a popup is not being allowed. It is obviously not saving either so I think it is more fundamental than that. When I switch to JCE it all works as it should so there must be an issue with the new editor. We are using Joomla 3 and it is all up to date. The site is not responsive. My tech guy is not keen on allowing access via ftp unless he really has to, but I have set you up access to the back end for now.

Hi Sam,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. May I know what is the correct url in order to access your administrator area? When I'm trying the following url http://yoursite.com/administrator it will redirect me to your homepage instead. Please advise.

I can't see what you are seeing - your new system hides the url if you add it in the tabs - so I can't see if it has been changed in anyway. I will try again.

do you mean you can't log in, or that you don't have enough access for easyblog? My tech guy is not keen to give out FTP details unless we really have to, so please can you take a look first. I have changed password etc and updated access levels to give you full access.

As you will see on the blog page (link below) the posts are not displaying properly either.

Hey Sam,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

I've checked in your site, it seems like your current template override the styling so it become overlaps a little bit.

Can you try apply the following css code in this file and see how it goes? (remember clear the cache)
JoomlaFolder/templates/sssltd/css/core_custom.css

// LINE 293 - 296
.wide {
margin: 0px auto;
width: 1000 !important;
}

// replace with
.wide {
margin: 0px auto;
width: 100% !important;
}

You're welcome.

I am sorry that missed up some of your issue in previous reply, can you assign this user account `stackideas` have Superadmin privileges and provide us with your FTP access as well?

Because I tried to open the composer, but hitting blank page, I believe there should hitting some fatal error.

Hi Arlex. We are going to make a copy of the site on a test server as this site is live and crucial to the client (that's why we don't want to give ftp access). I'll let you know new details as soon as it is ready.

Hi Arlex

Good news! while setting up a test copy of the site for you we found that the issues were not happening on our normal shared server - but were only happening on our VPS. We have now installed some extra modules on the VPS server and the problem seems to have been solved.

Thanks very much for your help and patience. Perhaps this may be of use to you if someone has similar issues!
