1. Error updating to EasySocial 1.3.11

Just like updating to ES 1.3.10, I get an installation error at 10% in step 3 "Installation via Network" with the message "Please download new launcher from our site at http://stackideas.com/dashboard."

So I downloaded the new launcher from dashboard and installed it without error. However...

Problems after update:

a) However just like last time with 1.3.10, installing by extension manager turns off all of the tooltips in ES which is a pain when developing. How to turn them back on?

b) Tabs do not work after update in ES. Example: Profile Types with tabs General. Registration, Avatars etc. Cannot go from tab to tab.

2. I am having trouble getting ES quick registration to work. It does not show any fields to fill in.

3. Also tried to install plg_fields_user_dicuss_signature.zip but got xml error message.

I know it's your weekend - so no rush - I'll work on something else.
Now I get a blank white page while trying to save a K2 item and this error message:

Notice: Undefined variable: params in /home/world/public_html/cw/plugins/k2/easysocial/easysocial.php on line 347

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/world/public_html/cw/plugins/k2/easysocial/easysocial.php on line 347

Hello John,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. The ftp access doesn't seem to work. Can you please advise? Tried with ftp and sftp.

Open any existing K2 item and then try to save it by clicking on Save. You get a blank white page with this error:
Notice: Undefined variable: params in /home/world/public_html/cw/plugins/k2/easysocial/easysocial.php on line 347

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/world/public_html/cw/plugins/k2/easysocial/easysocial.php on line 347

Hello John,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, for some reasons the K2 plugin that is installed on the site is an older version. I have updated it and it works fine now

Yes that solves the error problem,
but problems 1 (a) and (b) and 2 and 3 still exist.
Can you please look into these for me. Thanks.

Hello John,

Ah, sorry I totally missed that! I have fixed issues (a) and (b) by uploading the missing javascript files. As for your other issues, please find the response below:

2. I am having trouble getting ES quick registration to work. It does not show any fields to fill in.

Can I know where are you testing this on? Did you enable those custom fields on "mini registration" view?

3. Also tried to install plg_fields_user_dicuss_signature.zip but got xml error message.

Where are you installing this? It should be installed via EasySocial's installer and not Joomla's installer. I have installed the custom field for you and it is installed on the site now

Thanks for all your efforts.
I found this statement below in another discussion in this forum.

"I am trying to figure out the usage for the Quick Registration Module. When configuring the module, it allows me to select which profile type that instance of the module is supposed to register for. However, when I test the module it takes me to the profile type selected in Mini-Registration under settings."

I'm still having trouble with Quick Registration module at top right of home page which shows no fields. Easy Social Quick reg is enabled and set to Registered users but I cannot find mini registration under settings of ES.

Under that I have a regular registration module that includes lost password/username in case this is needed which goes to full registration.

Hi,

With the profile set to use for quick registration, you will have to go to that profile in backend -> EasySocial -> Profile Types -> Select the profile.

Go to Custom Fields tab, then click on a field to load up the configuration window, and under the "view" tab, enable the display in mini registration option.

Attached screenshot.

Also, ensure that under EasySocial -> Settings -> Registration -> Quick Registration -> Mode is set to "Quick".

Thanks for all your help on this and sorry for so many questions.

Just one more question.

Quick registration setup and it directs the user to a page asking for a confirmation code from an email sent. But no email is sent to user. Instead it sends an email to me to approve or reject a user. Likely confusing to user.

Hello John,

Just tested your site and the email is actually being sent to the user but it landed up in the spam box. See my screen shot here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-05_0050.png . You might always want to remove the password protection of your site. Not sure if this triggers gmail to think that there's something not right with the mail.

Ok, I understand. Once the site goes live it will be ok, but that will be few months yet. Thanks again. Btw does Mark ever sleep? He's answering questions in the middle of your night
