Hello,

We have already ffmpeg.exe installed on our server, and another component is using it sucessfuly.
We have entered the correct path on the ES settings, it does not show an error.

However, when uploading video, the encoding never starts (0%) as seen on the screenshot.

Thanks
S.
Can you update your Joomla backend and FTP access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check?

Hello,

It seems like the >/dev/null is not working on Windows based machine. Could you give this a try again? I have applied some fixes for you on the site.

Oh, I can see now that videos are encoded, but the 0-100 progress bar is not working.

if you check /community/videos they are there, but the user who uploads does not get a notification that video is uploaded.

Hello,

Hm, what is the size of the video file that you tried with? I am trying a video file that is somewhere about 1.2MB and it seems to be working fine.

Hello,

Hm, this is really odd because the video does get converted correctly. There seems to be something else triggering this. Is there any way for you to get your hosting provider to generate an error log for you? The AJAX response when it is trying to check the video conversion log file is throwing an Internal Server Error message but this error message is too generic.

Here's the information from failedRequestTracing:

On the same server, there's another site with JomSocial installed, the videos there work just fine.

Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks

Hello,

I have done some very thorough research and it seems like the problem goes back to the way IIS handles these CGI scripts and it seems like some of them are reporting it as a bug, https://forums.iis.net/t/1149787.aspx?The+I+O+operation+has+been+aborted+because+of+either+a+thread+exit+or+an+application+request

What is odd is that if there was a delay after the video is uploaded, then it will not hit this Internal Server Error. You can give this a try now. I have added some delay so that after the file is uploaded, the script would pause for a good 15 seconds before making a request again.

Also, the reason why Jomsocial works is because they do not have video conversions on the fly unlike EasySocial. When you upload videos in Jomsocial, they are added into the queue so that when ffmpeg kicks in, it will resize the video but that is pretty old school technology.

With EasySocial, you are able to convert videos on the fly but in this case, your webserver seems to be a little problematic.

Hello,

We transfered the dev site on a Windows 2016 - IIS 10 server, but we are still getting the same behaviour. I'll try to see what I find on IIS forum.

Btw, on video upload we see limit:

Maximum file size: 8mb

Where is this setting so we may change it ?

Thanks
S.

You can configure this from backend > Easysocial > profile type > select your profile type > ACL > video > Maximum File Size For Video Uploads , and you have to double check with your PHP server this `upload_max_filesize` value also need to be set to higher.

Hope this will help.
