This also happend in Version 5.0.44 and now under 5.1.4

Where can I set a "standard image" to be used as Open Graph Image, if no image is available in article itself?
Look at our Facebook Page and Twitter page, there are only pictures of author or even blank placeholders.
For both I want to have a standard image set. Etly Joocial can do this with Auto-Posting, why Easyblog not?

Facebook Page with Author Images
https://www.facebook.com/sg.oberliederbach/

Twitter Page - Feeds with grey placeholders

And there is a grey placeholder in EACH article, even if I deleted the the image block in the article itself.
Take this one as an example (but this article is LIVE, so dont change or edit):

Hello Joachim,

You can either set a post cover or embed at least 1 image in the blog post so that the blog post cover picture would be used when auto posted or shared on Facebook / Twitter. To set a post cover when composing, you can see my screen shot here, http://take.ms/NuHx2

For opengraph tag,

If EasyBlog is unable to detect any post cover or image in the post, it will try to get the image from:

/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_easyblog/images/placeholder-facebook.png

For auto posting,

If EasyBlog is unable to detect any post cover or image in the post, it will try to get the image from:

/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_easyblog/images/placeholder.png

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It seems like Facebook still cached those old image from your blog post, if I re-scrape again from Facebook debugger tool , it seems work fine.

Can you try create a new blog post from your site, then check on your Facebook Page and see whether it show correctly with the placeholder image?

First, this not an OLD one, this is the graphic I used for the test yesterday.
Second, it does even NOT work via Twitter.

This OpenGraph stuff should be clarified within EasyBlog and not anywhere else outside.
For me there is no real proper solution, that this can be handled easily.
If I make blogposts, I even dont know where are debuggers and all this stuff.
I bougth this software, that everything RELATED to the blog works as said.

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

It seems like that was bug, it always get the template from backend instead of frontend if you submit a blog post from backend.

I already applied some fix in this following file on your site, can you try create a new blog post and see is it work fine now for the Facebook image?
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/easyblog.php
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/oauth/adapters/facebook/client.php

By the way, Twitter part will not include any image for now during the autoposting, this is same behaviour like Easyblog previous version 5.x.

This is not believing, that easyblog does not support images for twitter autoposting.
Images are the most important thing on messages today.
This is annoying and *****. sorry.

In the next release of EasyBlog 5.1.5, auto posting for Twitter will now support media file uploads, http://take.ms/fCgWc
