Hi,

Just upgraded an ED3 to ED4 site.

On the frontpage index, all discussions are being pulled from one specific category, even though in the menu item config, I set to pull from all categories (by leaving category blank). In fact even if I use the generic URL:

index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&view=index

(so no menu item settings, it still pulls from only one category)

I have set this up on a test site so if there are any code changes required please let me know so I can apply to my live site.
Hi Jordan,

I see the issue now. I've added a fix on your dev site. Below is the file i've modified.

JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/models/posts.php

The same fix will be added into next release of EasyDiscuss as well

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Please note, this issue effects the mod_recentdiscussions as well.

Hey Jordan,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend URL so we can access and check on this issue?

Hi Jordan Weinstein,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I just checked on your dev site and I cant replicate the issue. When i click on your EasyDiscuss menu item 'ask the experts', the posts are listed from multiple categories. Please see http://screencast.com/t/mJXrVaeonQ

I did check your mod_recentdiscussions as well and its showing the posts from multiple categories too. Please see http://screencast.com/t/i5Hk9LP3HW

Is your issue now resolved? Please advise.

Hope this help and have a nice day.

Unfortunately, no it is not resolved. I had to get around the limitation by explicitly selecting categories to pull from in both the module and the menu item. When you try to get it to pull from all categories by leaving the category selection blank, then you see the issue again.

I have removed the workarounds on the test site and you can now see it.
