My client is having uploading images to the blogs. They are quite large file size (around 4MB) although I can upload them OK but my client can't.

He can upload smaller sized files but not those at 4MB.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Paul
Hi Paul Orford,

Regarding your issue, the only place that EasyBlog control the file size limit is at EasyBlog backend under Settings -> Media -> General -> Uploader -> Maximum upload file size. Please see attached image. If admin set the file limit to 10MB, then all the site member should allow to upload a file with 10MB size.

What I suspect is the slow connection from your client to your site which causing the timeout during the file upload. Can you increase below settings in your php.ini and see if that helps?

max_execution_time
max_input_time

Also, may i know which editor you currently used in EasyBlog? Can you edit your original post and provide us your Joomla site admin access under the 'site details' section so that we can try this our self?

Please advise.

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hi Sam

Thanks. We have increased the max execution time and the max input time, but the client is still having problems.

I have edited my original post to include backend login details.

The strange thing is that the client could upload images fine before I updated the software to the latest Easyblog release.

If we cannot get this resolved, can we reisntall an earlier version of EasyBlog?

thanks, Paul

Hey Paul,

I cant access your backend because your backend url redirects me to your frontend homepage. Please advice.
I tested on my local and cannot seem to replicate the issue. Therefore, I would need to test it on your backend and frontend to see if I can replicate this issue.
Get back to me and let me know thanks.

Hey Paul,

With the login credentials you provided, I am unable to login into your backend. Can you provide me a super admin account to troubleshoot on this?
I also need your client's user and password to see if I can replicate this issue with the mentioned account.
Lastly, I would also need your ftp access. Thanks.

Hey Paul,

I have tried to replicate your issue in your site but it seems uploads are working fine even for items above 4mb.

Perhaps you can ask your client to send us the image that he was trying to upload and also access to the account that he was using to upload so we can better replicate this issue? Please advice, thanks.

Thanks for checking Raymond. It works fine for me too on my local machine, juts not fopr the client.

He is asking about reverting to an earlier version of Easyblog as prior to upgrading to Easyblog 5 he was able to upload the images OK.

Is this going to be possible without first removing the current installation of EasyBlog and all the current posts?

Thanks, Paul

hey paul,

To be honestly, after you upgraded your Easyblog from 3.x to 5.x, actually that was not possible to downgrade to use Easyblog 3.x version is because between the 3.x and 5.x version, we already revamped all the code structure and table structure.

It would be best if you can try consult with your client and see is there a way to provide us with your following details as my colleague mentioned at above reply so that we can see what we do here?
1. Your client username and password
2. Provide us these 4mb image which your client trying to upload but fail.
3. How your client upload the image from the composer? Is it through the Easyblog media manager or from the image block? (You can refer on my attached screenshot below.)
