Hi there,

When a member is editing his profile he can set his privacy for most fields but not for his name. In this way all members can see the real name of the person as where not all members like that. See attachment.

Regards,
Ewoud
Hi Ewould,
There is no privacy setting for the name field because that is the most basic detail that the profile info page should display.
If you do not want to show the full name to other users, you can always change the name.
You can also set the display name to display the username instead if you want in the backend.

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for your answer.

There is no privacy setting for the name field because that is the most basic detail that the profile info page should display.

That sounds a bit strange. Yes it is the most basic detail in a profile, but shouldn't the user be able to hide his real name from members that are not friends. Maybe he doesn't even want to show his real name to members who are friends. Some people do not mind to share their real name but it is internet, so people often want to stay anonymous on sites. At least make it an option so members can decide for themselves, don't decide for them.
No offence, but that is what I think.

Ewoud

Hi Ewoud,

Thanks for your feedback and your suggestion. Currently the fullname field do not have a fall back as to what name it should display. Most likely we will need to allow user to be able to enter their nickname before they can even set a privacy so that the system know what to display when the privacy set to 'private'. We will see what we can do regarding the matter.

As for now, maybe you want to submit this in our feature request page.

Hope this help and have a nice day!
