Hello Mark,

updated to 1.3.2, experienced the privacy rules issue again, this time I have certainly overridden the privacy file as per Goodwin's previous response at http://stackideas.com/forums/access-levels-cannot-be-selected#reply-165347, however, the issue persists.

I will appreciate your assistance

kind regards
Hi Michael,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the toolbar search, currently it is using Joomla finder ( smart search ) to search for the data. The user will get indexed only if you've set your profile search privacy to 'public' or 'registered user'. By right, If you set the privacy to 'my friends only', that particular user shouldn't be indexed into Joomla finder. Currently there is a bug and users who have set the privacy to 'my friend only' still indexed into Joomla finder Good news is, I've fixed this bug and applied the fix on your site as well. So 'registered' user will not able to find those users who has set the privacy to 'my friends only'.

Please verify again.

Note, if you are logged in to your site with a super admin, you will then able to search all your users irregardless their privacy. So to test the fix, please login with normal registered user

The fix will be added into next release of EasySocial as well
Hope this help and have a nice day
Sam

Hello Michael,

Can you please download the file from http://stackideas.com/forums/access-levels-cannot-be-selected#reply-165347 and apply the fix and see if that works?

hello Mark, i did that earlier.

However, I've just done this again but the issue still subsists.

I've provided dummy details so you can replicate the issue.

Hello Michael,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, sorry but I am a little lost here. When I tried the privacy in the story it seems to appear correctly as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/jczBh19BY . Am I missing anything here?

hello Mark. its actually the search in the toolbar.

privacy settings for the dummy users provided are set to *profile search* friends only.

however whenever any registered user who are not friends search their profile, it displays.

I hope this is sufficiently explicit.

Hello Michael,

Ah, I think I misunderstood your request here as I thought you are referring to the "styling". Hm, I think there is a general misunderstanding over the toolbar search because in 1.3.2, we have modified the way the toolbar searches. It actually doesn't search for users but rather, it suggests for a name to be searched. When you click on the name, does it display the result?
