When a user is subscribed to a plan then it is prevented from creating the same subscription again.

We use the Subscription Approval that prevents user from an automatic activation and keeps the user on hold till is manually activated.
In this case despite that invoice is already paid, users are not prevented from attempting or subscribing again to the same plan.

Is it possible to configure plan to deny users to subscribe again to the same plan once their invoice is paid?

As you are using subscription Approval app, then to prevent user to subscribe , you need to use Limit subscription app.
You need to configure this app for hold status and limit should be one.
