Hi Support

Is this just me or is there a password being inserted automatically every time I save?
Please see the bottom right of the first screen shot!
I can delete the stars and save and things work.
But I am thinking there must be a better way!?!

Talking about update site here:

thanks

Paul
Sure, let us know how this goes.

Hey Paul,

There's actually already an "autocomplete=off" in the input itself. If your browser or any password extension is trying to insert this password, there's really nothing we can do

Edited. Try a different browser and see if the problem persists. If it's Chrome Autofill, right-click on the password box for config options.

Hi Mark, Hi David

This could be the answer to a lot of weird issues I have been having recently.
I will investigate this properly tomorrow.

Off the top of my head:

ooooooopps in English:

I just noticed it on mine as well. Are you by chance using BitDefender's BitWallet?

Is that addon causing the form to auto fill the password?

For me it's entirely possible. It's similar to Chrome Autofill but with encryption. I've not disabled it to test, though. Similar applications could be causing Paul's problem.

For myself I have confirmed that Bitdefender's BitWallet is the culprit. To get around this, you'll want to open Bitdefender (my version is Total Security 2015), then click on Privacy.

When the Privacy menu opens up, click on WALLET.

Under Autofill settings, set Autofill login credentials to "Let me choose when I want to autofill my login credentials". That should fix the problem; it did for me.

A similar procedure may need to be followed with other apps of similar functionality.

Testing Blur with Chrome, it gives me the option to populate it with my Joomla password. I tried to make it stick but it asks if it'd like to paste the password every time. Mind you, I'm on stock settings. Have you tried disabling the extension to see if that one is causing the problem?

Hi David

I expect to be able to say more about this later today.
Had a malware issue on my site which played havoc with my URLs.
Light at the end of the tunnel after IP issues combined with malware that replaced the base URl with random URLs.

Will attempt to actually do some blogging with emmmm Easy Blog 5 would you believe

best

Hi David, hi Mark

I confirm that this is only happening in Firefox, the browser where I have "Blur" installed.
So I suspect that it has something to do with "Blur".
Every thing works as one would expect in Chrome.

I am away for a week next week and think that it is unlikely that I will be able to investigate this further for another week or so.

but I will get back to this....

thanks

Paul
