Shouldn't the posts by default be listed by the most recent post first in EasyArticle on the front end? Is this a known bug and is it schedule to be fixed?

Thanks!
Hi there,

Currently, those views is controlled by the menu itself, and currently, you are using Joomla's menu and it already set to shown this http://take.ms/RmPNU.

Sorry I think I was not clear. I mean in the Easy articles dashboard on the front end I think it should list your articles so after you submit one it shows up on the list in the dashboard. I have to click the date column header twice in order for it to show my recently posted article. It probably should default to this when going to dashboard view posts (date descending) right?

Hi there,

Yes it is. Currently, it is set as default to shown based on it ID, and if you wanted to check for it recent post, you can sort it based on it id. Please give it a try and see how it goes

Perhaps mine is not working correctly.

Are you saying it should be listed by ID descending so that when I post a new article and am redirected back to the list of posts it should show mine at the top of the list? That is not the case currently. I have to click either date or ID for the most recent post to show up on the top of the list. This seems like a bug and I am not sure if its specific to my system or its all users of Easy Article.

I just tried it again to confirm. It lists by article ID ascending when you first login and look a the posts through the dashboard on the front end. I can click the ID column header and it switches to descending but this should be default. I should not have to click every time. Also if I logout and then log back in it switches back to ID ascending again and I have to click ID again.

I am not sure anyone will want to look at their first articles after submitting one. They will want to look at the most recent article after submitting.

Therefore again I insist this is a bug. It should - by default - list by article ID descending first. See attachment for how it should default.

Don't you think?

Thanks!

Hey Jemmyn,

Yes you are right. By default it should always be sorted by latest first (id) which is the same exact behavior as Joomla articles too. Can you download the attached file and upload it into /administrator/components/com_easyarticles/models/adapters/posts/

I have also logged this issue into our internal issue tracker as well.

Genius. I went in and replaced that file and now when I first login and look at the posts it lists by article ID descending order. Works perfectly. As it should. Thanks for working through this with me.
