I assume that there is no solution to have private box checked by categories?
For us it is very important to be able to default selection either for ticket support or unchecked just for member discussions. Users usually leaving this box unchanged by default.

Could you tell me the costs for adding this feature to ED

1. Make it possible to tick the private box per category as default (user still has the option to uncheck when posting)
2. Make it possible to force all posts in a specific category to be private (user cannot change)

currently, the post is always NOT private and the user has the option to check the private box

This would make it possible to use some categories as open discussion forums and others for 1-1 conversations/tickets with users.

This feature has been implement into our core component, where you can Enable the settings>composer>general>Private Postings first and in respective category you can enable the 'Private post checked by default' https://take.ms/CMxbf
