When I add a post to Linked In and post the address of a new blogpost in the body, what gets displayed on LinkedIn is the metadata, not the body of the blog post. It's really embarrasing and I look really unproffessional.
If they click on the link it does come up correctly but nobody's going to if there's no description.
How can I prevent meta data from showing up as the intro to my blog?
Hello Bob,

Hm, not really sure what you meant by the "meta data" here. Can you please provide us with the link or a screen shot of this issue?

Let me clarify a bit. #1 -I create the blog in editing post. #2- I then add the meta data for search engines (see image) #3- I publish it.
My next step is to go to my LinkedIn Groups account to post.(see image); #1- Add my title and intro into the first field #2- copy and paste the address of the blog into the second field.#3- click share
The results; When the linkedIn post is published, what shows is the title, my intro and the hyperlink. Then below that, which should be the first few lines of the body of the blog, is the meta description as entered in EastBlog's 'editing post'. This is the first time I have added any meta data to a blog post, which is why I haven't reported this issue previously. This is also the first time I used LinkedIn's API for 'Sharing' with other groups and once I saw the results, I had to quickly go to each group and manually delete the article.
What I believe happens is that all meta descriptions are entered in the 'heading' of the article and LinkedIn used that as the 'body' of the article from the link.
There is nothing in the EasyBlog settings to isolate meta descriptions from the body, so my only answer is to NOT enter meta descriptions or keywords.
There should be a way ????

Here's something else. I went to edit my blog and removed all the meta descriptions and keywords from the settings on the right column, saving it and then retried posting the blog to different Linkedin groups using the Autoposting feature and guess what? The meta descrptions are still there and still being posted as the 'body' of the article.
It looks like I'll have to start a fresh, new blog.

Hello Bob,

Sorry for the late reply. I've made a research and I found out that it is how Linkedin API works. If you have a meta data in your page, Linkedin will retrieve it as the content. But if the page doesn't has a meta data, LinkedIn will fetch the content directly from the page. You can see the documentation here: https://developer.linkedin.com/documents/share-api under Controlling How Shares Are Displayed.
