Hi,
Not sure what's wrong ?
When I paste in a URL in a new post on my wall, it doesn't scrape the content (see attachment)
Works fine in FB
Any guess as to what's wrong ?
Thanks
Danny
Ah okay found the issue. It seems like in 2.0, we have not added .zone into the supported domains. This was added locally in my repository for 2.1. This will be fixed in 2.1

Hey Danny,

Is it possible for you to update the site details with the FTP access? I tried to connect to the ftp but it isn't working for me I also tested that link on my local instance and it seems to be scraping just fine, http://take.ms/roqnMz

Hey Danny,

I can't correct your site unless I switch it to development mode I have recompiled the script locally on my ES 2.0.x branch. Can you download this and upload it int /media/com_easysocial/scripts/

Hey Danny,

Yeah, it was designed to be this way mainly because if you were to maintain the aspect ratio, then your height of the image would be really tall unless we crop the image which is what Facebook is actually doing.

However, cropping isn't really ideal if the "subject" in your image is placed at the bottom / top of the image then people would be complaining that their subject is missing from the image

This image is at it's source 1300x900 so it should fit in there much better no ?
Personally, I prefer the Facebook cropping logic if the image isn't optimized or social sharing. This makes the user wall much nicer.

Hm, Facebook uses facial recognition tools to actually help map out places it should / shouldn't crop. Perhaps we could just crop it and have it displayed as cover instead would please a lot of users but let me discuss with the designers to see if this is viable.

I think this would be an MVP decision :-)
If every you get access to the facial reco tool, that would be nice too but that's a "nice to have" option that's less of a priority in my opinion.

Thanks Danny, I certainly would want a facial recognition tool to be included in EasySocial but it's going to be really massive in size haha and it's going to piss your hosting provider off for using too much CPU.

It could be an optional setting ?
That's also assuming it doesn't make EasySocial cost 20,000$ per licence ;-)
BTW: I own a Joomla hosting company so no worries for that lol -> https://joomsting.com
Thanks and let me know for the preview pic ?
