Ok but does that change the ordering for all categories? Some I would like to be alphabetical and some I would like to be in date descending order... is that possible? In the menu item perhaps?

Unfortunately, currently we do not have this features yet as this will always follow those setting set on Backend>Components>EasyBlog>Settings>Layout>General as shown https://www.screencast.com/t/h3uBTQdH . But it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.
