I've helped you to disabled to show placeholder from your backend > easyblog > categories > general > post options, http://screencast.com/t/7qLueYB2D and it should working correctly now. This are known issue where another options should be present inside the categories options which is called "inherit from default settings". We have addressed this issue internally and will be release a new version of easyblog shortly.
