Hi,

I currently have two portals setup in an almost identical manner (one is a copy of the other). Their homepages are both EasyBlog frontpage. The sites each have another EasyBlog Frontpages menu.

( 1 ) In the first site (http://www.recreomoto.com), when clicking on a blog item, the user gets routed to the 2nd Frontpage menu item (/blog)

( 2 ) In the second site (http://www.mysewingcircle.ca), when clicking on a blog item, the user gets routed to the 1st Frontpage menu item which is the homepage.

How can I manage the order in which Joomla chooses the menu item to open the items in ? I would like the post items to get routed to the /blog frontpage in the 2nd MySewingCicrle website (not in it's homepage).

Thanks
Danny
Hey Danny,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I've checked in your site, the reason why it didn't respected blog category menu item is because you created (Easyblog (Post) frontpage) menu type for disable your specify category post.

By the way, that was not advisable to use this (Easyblog (Post) frontpage) menu type for configure with your specify category. I would like to recommended to switch to use `Single category layout` menu item instead and select which specify category you would like to display on your page.

It should respected with your blog category menu item.

Hey Danny,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Do you mean you would like your this site http://www.recreomoto.com blog url format right?

If yes, is it possible provide us with your this site Joomla backend access http://www.recreomoto.com so I can check on this?

You can update your site's access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site under the optional information field.

No,
I did not say that ?

No disrespect guys but it seems sometimes all your responses are precanned with "sorry about the delay" then "please give us access to your website" ?

I explained the issue as best I could in the previous e-mail. It should pretty clear if you read it.
Also, I gave you access to the site i am having this issue with.

I will re-explain as to not loose another 24 hours:

Site 1 (recreomoto.com)
Homepage = EasyBlog Frontpage (blog posts)
When we click on a blog, it opens the full blog item in a second EasyBlog Frontpage menu item

Site 2 (mysewingcircle.ca)
Homepage = EasyBlog Frontpage (blog posts)
When we click on a blog, it opens the full blog item directly in that same page. However, this site also has a second EasyBlog Frontpage menu item.

How come site 1 opens in the one menu item and the second site opens in another ? I want site 2 (mysewingcircle.ca) to open it's blogs in the second menu item like the first site does ?

This is a Joomla routing issue but it's happening with your component.

Please advise
Danny

I am not sure why are we talking about both sites here but I believe you are trying to enforce EasyBlog to use a specific menu item for it's routing behavior?

1. Go to Settings > Advanced and check the option "Use specific menu id".
2. Then, enter the menu id that you want EasyBlog to use to route.

Hi Mark,
That's exactly what I am trying to achieve
OK so i found the Settings/SEO/Advanced interface.
I can indeed force all items to route with this. Cool.
I am curious though as to why it's not getting routed to the respective blog category menu item like the other site we have ? All the blog categories have a menu item.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks
Danny

Hi,
Ya, I did this as suggested since I had to do something to show the client it worked.
I ended up cleaning the whole thing and making everything into categories or featured posts and only one front-page. Works fine now.
Thanks
Danny
