The reason that it just shows 3 polls only is because those poll(didn't show in the poll page) stream items are no longer exists.

I have no idea why are those poll stream items missing. Either the poll owner deleted by themselves or someone deletes the poll manually.

I just tested on my local site and it seems that when I deleted poll stream item, the data will also be deleted in the database.

Is there any resolution to this?
Our website is quite busy, so we delete stream data after 3 months to prevent the database from being filled up with old, irrelevant data. However, does this now mean that all of our old polls are now removed as well?

I can see in the backend that there are more than 60 polls, but on the front end only 4 are displayed.
Two of these are newer expired polls but the remaining 2 are both mine and more than 7 months old.

I am really sorry that I was not clear enough on my previous reply.

If you delete the poll stream item, the poll item will be deleted together as well.

But if the poll stream item been archived, the poll item will not be deleted and will not show on the frontend.

Unfortunately currently that is no other way around to tell system to show those polls item on frontend because thoses polls stream item already archived.

Even you unarchived for those polls stream item from backend, the system will still archived those polls stream item since you set 3 months for that "archive items older than".

This is because there are only 4 poll stream items on your site currently and the other poll stream items have been archived already.
