Compliments of the day,

I just discovered that the poll app does not lock a users vote.

A user can vote and change his response again to another option after that and the app allows it, recording the new selection. I think this makes it difficult or impossible to actually get accurate results from it.

How can this be resolved?

Hassan
Correct me if I getting wrong your mean,

Poll item A
- ABC
- DEF

User A first he voted ABC , so ABC vote total count is 1
User A second he change to voted DEF, so ABC vote total count still showing 1?

Hi Arlex,

Using your illustration, what I mean is

Poll Item
- ABC
- DEF

User A votes ABC so ABC shows one vote.
User A changes his mind and votes DEF. Now DEF shows one vote and shows no vote.

For an accurate result in an opinion poll, usually, a respondent should not change his vote after voting. Otherwise the result will not make much meaning if people keep changing their mind and the result keeps changing.

Regards

Hassan

Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, currently this is it default behavior as user can change their vote as they should. Thanks for your understandings

Hello Abdul,

Thanks for the response.

So is this something that will be adjusted soon or will the app continue to function in the same way it currently does?

Cheers

Hi Hassan

Yes, it is, it will function in the same way it currently does.

But it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

Thanks for your understanding
