Hi there, in my website there are 3 user profile areas: Joomla itself for the main account registration, confirmation and access levels groups. Then there is a membership extension that also has its own profile with some custom fields. Then there is EasyDiscuss which also has profile information.

For the best user experience, I think it is logical that people manage their Discussions profile in the ED5 section, but I would like it to be possible to NOT SHOW their core account information again in the ED5 area but ONLY in an account / registration area.

I am using some CSS to set "display: none" to hide this when using the Welcome module and its Edit Profile menu item.

However, can you please make this configurable in an easy way? I think a lot of users would like this.

Similarly, I cannot figure out how to ONLY show the Social Profile on this Edit Profile page, and not all of them. The plugin that is supposed to control the master configuration does not seem to apply to THIS Edit Profile page.

I only want to show and use LinkedIn and nothing else.

Anything you can do re this would be most appreciated!

Thanks
No problem with the delay.

Okay, I understand what you mean now, we will see if we can do something about this.

I will log into the issue tracker.

May I know which part you would like to hide it from the welcome module? (screenshot: https://monosnap.com/file/VuPb1OYQACQHeKpJZbfcX5NmGwA4Yx )

Regarding the edit profile page, do you mean that you would like to have an option to determine to show a specific social profile field e.g. LinkedIn? (screenshot: https://monosnap.com/file/jq2D0NbFY7D9j7EJX6lCFswqt1GGLs )

Hi Arlex, sorry for the delayed response. I am attaching this to clarify: Account Section. It is the blue area that is a duplicate of what the Joomla Edit Profile already covers. IMO, it is better if there is only ONE place where users edit this information. If this section in ED5 is selectable as "show" or "do not show", then the admin can decide in what area of the site they want to have the user manage this.

For the Social Profile piece, what I am recommending is that when an admin is only activating one or a few of the social profile areas in the Easy Discuss User Profile plugin, that this area of the profile show only show those and NOT all of them.

I have all disable in the Easydiscuss plugin except LinkedIn. In the Joomla profile area, it only shows the Nickname and Linked In profile line as expected.

In the ED5 profile area you have the screenshot of, nothing changes when you disable profile items in the plugin, as far as I can tell.

What I am saying is that there should be a consistent active / disabled configuration for these items that are governed by the plugin.

Hope that helps!
