By right all themes will have this feature as you can see from my frosty theme screenshot here,
1) http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-18_1223.png - Pin this item
2) http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-18_1224.png - Join group button on group listing page

Am I missing something here? Perhaps you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access if there any issue on your site? Please advise.

That was strange, may i know did you customize of your frosty theme before?

if no, may i know which version you update to latest version 1.3.28?

By the way, I already renamed this file from -> JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/frosty/stream/default.item.php to default.item.php_bak

It should show the Pin now.

It should work fine now after I renamed all folder which shouldn't exist on this folder ->

JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/frosty/
