Hi
Siteground closed down my easysocial site because SQL queries erre taking up too many resources. The code they identified as causing the problem is this:

SELECT * FROM `j32_social_photos` WHERE `state` = '1' AND `storage` = 'joomla' AND `id` != '5' AND `id` != '236' AND `id` != '243' AND `id` != '258' AND `id` != '268' AND `id` != '273' AND `id` != '278' AND `id` != '283' AND `id` != '288' AND `id` != '293' AND `id` != '298' AND `id` != '303' AND `id` != '308' AND `id` != '313' AND `id` != '318' AND `id` != '323' AND `id` != '3 ...

and it goes on through THOUSANDS of id numbers - basically causing continuous requests and requesting the whole list every few minutes.

Is this a bug on 1.2.3 ? Does upgrading to 1.2.5 fix this? (I performed the upgrade)

They can find no malicious code or entry to the site.

Can you help me understand what's going on and how I can prevent this happening again? I dont want to close the site down again!

THanks
Rod
Hello Rod,

Hm, can you please request them to re-open the site again so that I can try to check on the codes? Are they able to identify which particular page is this that they are referring to?

HI Mark

Thanks for the reply. The site is currently back online. We restored a backup from 2 days ago and then upgraded to 1.2.6 and everything seems to be fine at the moment - I need to monitor it especially when lots of users are online.

I have included FTP details in case you need them,

Hello Rod,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I think I know where the issue is coming from and I believe it could be due to the "cronjob" when it's trying to export the photos over to Amazon. Can you request your hosting provider to not SHUT OFF the site completely if this query happens and let you know? So that I can debug this when it occurs?

Hi Mark

Thanks for that insight - sounds like you're hot on the trail I was certainly let you know the next time we have this problem.
I know they changed their servers on Wednesday, I think they migrated everything to new servers - and perhaps that generated the attempt by the cronjob to re-export everything?

Anyway, we'll keep an eye and let you know.
Thanks for all you do and your endless helpful and kind support.
